Greetings Salesian Family and Friends!
My name is Sr. Bernadette Mota and I am delighted to serve as the new Director of Department of Mission Advancement (DMA) for the Salesian Sisters Western Province. With deep gratitude I say thank you to everyone who has supported our mission over the years. You are our collaborators in the good that has been and will be done for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
In this picture we are standing next to a statue of Mary Help of Christians that is located in the entrance way of our provincial house. She is draped by a friendship chain created by children from St. Peter-St. Joseph (St. PJ’s) Children’s Home in San Antonio, TX. Our Sisters volunteer at St. PJ’s on a monthly basis to share the joy of God’s love with these young people in crisis. They provide a Salesian Oratory experience of faith, fun, and friendships for these youth who are waiting to be reunited in a loving family unit. Every time our Sisters return, they add the names of the new children to the link and continue praying for those who have found a loving home. It is a symbol of each person being entrusted to the loving care of Jesus and Mary. There are countless stories like this where our Salesian Sisters, collaborators and young people are making this world a better place today.
Through your partnership, we will continue the dream and vision of St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello for the Christian education and formation of the young, especially the poor and women at risk. There is an exciting road ahead and you are invited to share in our mission through the resources God has given you. Know that the Salesian Sisters and DMA Team pray for you and your intentions every day.
Blessings,
Sr. Bernadette Mota, FMA
