On a Mission

Volunteers International for Development, Education, and Solidarity (VIDES) is a lay volunteer program in which young adults serve short-term or long-term missions domestically and internationally with the Salesian Sisters and priests. From June 6 - 20, six young women are participating in the new volunteer orientation in Colorado Springs. As a part of their formation, they are also helping the Sisters run a week of Vacation Bible School for elementary and high school-age boys and girls. Leeshia Rocha will be doing an internship at the VIDES office at the UN in Geneva, Jess Sardina will be spending a year with our Sisters at a boarding school in Saltillo, Mexico, Nancy Salazar will be volunteering at one of our schools in Texas, Betsy Nieto will spend a year with our Sisters in Sicily working with migrants and refugees, and Janine Snyder and Celinda Lopez will be part of a retreat program run by our Sisters in Scotland. These amazing young women are excited to serve in the mission to which God has called them. They greatly appreciate your prayers!
