Remembering Sr. Sarah Garcia

As we begin our Lenten journey, we share the sad news that Sr. Sara Garcia lost the fight to Covid on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.  Sr. Sara was born on March 9, 1929, in Michoacán, Mexico. She was 91 years of age and 68 years as a Salesian Sister. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Sr. Sara is survived by two brothers, Javier and Ismael Garcia Galan, nephews and nieces.

After her Religious Profession Sr. Sara’s apostolic, zestful mission as a teacher began in 1952 in San Antonio, TX and continued in San Marcos, TX, Laredo, TX, Palmdale, Bell Gardens, CA and Bellflower, CA. She drew her strength from Jesus and Mary, her constant companions. Her devotion, spiritual guidance and love extended to those whom she served and to those who took care of her. Sr. Sara will be greatly missed by students, parents, friends, priests, and her Salesian Sisters.

Eternal rest grant unto her O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen
