Novena to Mary Help of Christians

The Salesian Family worldwide is encouraged to renew their trusting faith in Mary Help of Christians, following the example of St. John Bosco for many graces in difficult times. Please join us in praying the Novena to Mary Help of Christians from May 15-23. You can follow the Noven in two formats. First, by praying the traditional novena prayer below, and second, viewing the daily novena videos created by the Salesian Missions. Each video offers a scripture passage, an episode from St. John Bosco's life, a witness talk, and a final prayer.

Novena to Mary Help of Christians

***Repeat all prayers 3 times

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Blessed and praised every moment be the Most Holy and Divine Sacrament.

Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile show us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

Mary Help of Christians, pray for us

34 Apparizione A Dbosco

Prayer to Mary Help of Christians composed by St. John Bosco

O Mary, most powerful Virgin,

great and illustrious defender of the Church,

wonderful Help of Christians, formidable as an army in battle array,

you who have overcome every heresy in the world,

in our anguish, in our combats, in our difficulties,

defend us from the Enemy, and at the hour of our death

receive our souls into Paradise.  Amen.
